If you want to connect your Hackintosh to the internet via WiFi, you'll usually have to set up a separate wireless adapter (also known as a WiFi card). When choosing a WiFi adapter, your two main options are to buy either a PCI adapter or a USB adapter. The names are self-explanatory; a PCI adapter should be attached to a motherboard PCI slot, while a USB adapter should be attached to a USB port. Both mediums have their own advantages and disadvantages., but if that isn't an option, read on for a list of compatible USB WiFi adapters instead. Latest Update (December 7, 2014): Added notes on Yosemite compatibility! Should I use USB? Before I start giving recommendations, we need to address a fundamental question: should you really use a USB adapter to connect your Hackintosh to WiFi?
I have same issue with calendar where it shows correct time(CST) in left column on my calendar but has PST inside details (blocked area). Initially I thought it was apple forcing me to see what the time was in California (PST) but seeing other people with the same issue in different time zones showing a different time zone than PST as secondary time, that is not the case. What is most irritating is if I want to change the time, it comes up in PST on the selection wheel which really throws me off.
The beautiful thing about Macs, in comparison to Windows, is that apps lack an installation process with files going to different areas of your hard drive. They all stay compiled into one 'App' file. Taking advantage of this, we can move all of our hefty apps and support files over to an external drive to free up space on the built-in drive, and in short, speed up your system. Choosing an External Drive The best external drives for Mac computers are undoubtably ones. They're reliable, they're sturdy, and they're fast. Those are three things that are going to come in handy for our use. The G-Technology G-DRIVE mini (1TB).

Early in 2006, I wrote an article for Low End Mac entitled. In it, I noted that the then-new Intel-powered Macs were unable to run older Mac software in called Classic Mode, but that there were at least a couple of ways to get around that, including Basilisk II, which emulates old 680×0 Macs, and SheepShaver, which emulates newer pre-OS X PowerPC Macs. While SheepShaver, promising emulation of Macs from the late 1990s, would seem a better solution than Basilisk – emulating Macs from the 1980s through early 1990s – I noted in that article: “I’ve been trying to make (SheepShaver) work. So far, all I get is a black window.” While many of us no longer rely on old Classic mode software, Apple gives Classic mode even less support than at the time I wrote that article. At that time, if you had a PowerPC Mac, you could still run older software in Classic Mode if needed.
